George Stenson - Chairman

George joined the charity in 2006 as a part time Volunteer Support worker and through his commitment to the charity then became Chairman in 2014. His role as Chairman of Transport for Sick Children since being elected by trustees is for both the charity and a limited company. George leads the board meetings and ensures the organisation is compliant with all the necessary regulatory, legal, rules and regulations. He supports Manchester City football club and is a keen golfer, regularly playing locally at Houldsworth golf club.

Pauline Cope - Company Secretary

Pauline is the secretary for the charity, and is a former nurse and Nursing Manager at Wythenshawe hospital. After attending the Charity’s AGM she was asked to consider joining the charity and was then formally accepted as a trustee at the next AGM in 2009. Pauline’s main interest is watching ballet, supporting the Northern Ballet now based in Leeds but established in Manchester. She also enjoys going for drives in her husbands’ classic car and they belong to an international car club.

Gaynor Kershaw - Trustee

Gaynor worked for the NHS for 47 years, joining as a nurse and then moving in to Health visiting. She joined the charity after gaining trustee nursing experience through community groups. Gaynor loves the outdoors, taking regular walks with friends and is heavily involved in volunteering with the Girl guides including their camping trips.

Eric Houghton – Trustee and Volunteer driver representative

Eric joined the charity as a volunteer driver in 2009 and is now a trustee and the volunteer driver representative. Eric took early retirement from his Bank Manager position and was keen to give something back to his local community. When he’s not busy driving, Eric likes to follow Chelsea football club, going to the games when he can. He also loves listening to music, particularly Bruce Springsteen who he’s seen in concert over 27 times.

Laura Chidgey – Charity Manager

Laura has been working for the charity for 4 years, initially as the Office Manager and now Charity Manager. She works closely with the Board of Trustees to plan, manage and monitor budgets, Human Resources for all staff and has responsibility for the day to day operations and management of the charity. Laura has a large family and enjoys spending time with them, trying out new restaurants and going to the cinema and theatre in her spare time.

Marie-Anne Eckersall – Communications and Fundraising Co-ordinator

Marie-Anne has been working for the charity for 3 years, firstly in an Admin/Transport Organiser role and now focusing on Communications and fundraising for the charity. Her role involves communications through social media, the newsletter and looking at new ways to fundraise for the charity. In her spare time Marie-Anne enjoys spending time with her young children, running and socialising.

Judith Oxley – Transport Organiser

Judith has been with the charity for over 20 years and enjoys working with the volunteers and families to organise transport for the appointments we receive. In her spare time Judith loves walking, shopping and weekends away.

Julie Livesey – Transport Organiser

Julie has been with the charity for 7 years and also works with the volunteers and families to organise transport for the appointments we receive. In her spare time Julie enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, walking her dog and socialising.

Linda has been with the charity for 4 years and works with volunteers and families to organise transport. In her spare time Linda likes walking her dog and visiting charity shops and car boot sales.
